Project Blueprint & Overview

About the CSS NC II Learning Platform

A dedicated web-based educational portal designed to support Computer Systems Servicing NC II learners with accessible, competency-aligned learning materials.

Project Context & Background

The Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II qualification under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) equips learners with core competencies in installing computer systems, setting up networks, configuring server roles, and performing maintenance and repairs.

Conventionally, instructional materials for TVET trainees are distributed via printed handouts, loose electronic files, external links, or disconnected repositories. This disjointed arrangement makes it difficult for learners to systematically monitor their readiness for national qualification assessments.

This platform bridges that gap by providing a centralized, structured, and user-friendly web portal that organizes instructional content into competency-based modules, incorporates downloadable media, and enables learners to record their completion progress.

General & Specific Objectives

Centralize all CSS NC II instructional materials into an organized digital hub.
Provide structured lesson navigation aligned with TESDA Training Regulations.
Offer an interactive repository of downloadable schematics, pinouts, and references.
Enable real-time learner progress tracking per competency module.
Provide administrative content management tools to prevent hardcoded learning data.
Deliver a responsive, mobile-friendly interface for trainees studying in computer labs or on mobile devices.

Core Competencies Covered

Competency 1: Install and Configure Computer Systems

Hardware assembly, anti-static precautions (ESD), BIOS/UEFI configuration, OS installation (Windows & Linux), driver installation, and application software setup.

Competency 2: Set Up Computer Networks

Network cable fabrication (Straight-Through & Crossover T568A/B), router configuration, subnetting, Wi-Fi security, and file/printer sharing over LAN.

Competency 3: Set Up Computer Servers

Windows Server administration: Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DNS, DHCP server configuration, Organizational Units (OU), and Group Policy Objects (GPO).

Competency 4: Maintain and Repair Systems & Networks

System diagnostics, 5S methodologies, preventative maintenance scheduling, backup and restore procedures, and hardware replacement diagnostics.

Platform Scope Clarification

In Scope

  • Public landing page & competency overviews
  • Learner account registration & authentication
  • Personalized learner dashboard
  • Structured competency modules & lesson viewer
  • Resource library for PDFs, infographics & video links
  • Learner progress tracking per module
  • Content administration for modules, lessons, and resources

Out of Scope

🌐 Technical Requirements & Connectivity

CSServe is an online cloud-connected learning portal powered by Supabase PostgreSQL. An active internet connection is required to authenticate, load curriculum content, stream procedural videos, record learning progress, take quizzes, and manage institutional gradebooks. While downloadable resources (PDFs, schematics) may be saved locally by learners, web application features require active network connectivity.
